Today, I entered a bet with my brother... First one to loose 10% of their weight wins...I got a new computer table... By next week I'll be including weight training in my routine... My furnitures are all rearranged....Time to bring back the bench and dumbells inside my room again...Today is a stressful day... short on money and high on expenses... grrr....
I'm also listening to the silva method of mind control.. I've read the book before... Basically, it's about using your mind on the alpha level... where mind programing is most susceptible ... I intend to use in my training and basically in all aspects of my life...
About my run... the last part was the greatest part... I was having a lot energy towards the last part... the beginning was quite difficult...

Day 16 to Day 23
It's nice be back in my blog... I haven't been able to post in my blog because my videocard broke down. At first, I thought that it was my monitor which was broken.. Luckily, my brother hooked my monitor to the motherboard and guess what.. it worked.. Luckily, I didn't buy a new monitor... with the global crisis, I reallyyyyy don't want to have unnecessary expenses...
Anyway, wish I could give you a run down on Day 16-23.. but I was to amused when my birthday... Yup.. I'm now 27 years old... huh... My birthday is really a big deal for me... Usually I have this 30 day count down before my birthday.. But I was too busy that I only end up having a 7 day countdown.... What excite me the most is that I own that particular day... My own special day....

Day 15
Still have a bad cough. It's really hard to maintain my breath. I don't want to drink any medicine. I'm trying to be all natural. But it's taking a lot of time. Usually I just take an antibiotic but I'm trying not to rely on medicine. I think I need more water. Hope I can keep up with the plan tomorrow.

Day 13
now I'm on day 13 of the walk to run program....
I was really upset when this blog account was suspended... I missed almost a week of posting... Honestly, I really missed posting about my runs...
the 3 minute run was quite difficult.... about the 2nd minute I keep looking on the timer and saying to myself how come 1 minute seems so long... so i just kept thinking, how does people run for an hour... yikes, my 3 minute seems pathetic... So i just imagined myself running doing 30 minute run... and that the 3 mins should be just a walk in the park, at least figuratively.
by the way i got sick this week, but still sticked with my program.. I still have a cough and feeling lethargic most days...But every time I finish running, I feel better. I feel energized. So it was good decision for me to continue with the plan even when I'm sick.

SPAMMING problem
I'm glad that the spamming issue is over. I wasn't able to post due to spamming issues on my blog. Anyway, I applied for a review and the good news is they found out that I'm a real person.
and the blogging continues....

Day 8
The 2nd week starts. I'm not really feeling that good. My back hurts. I bought 2 rims of bond paper and I might have lifted it wrong. So I had to remind myself that I need to finish this plan. And I'm still on the early part of the plan so quiting it is really nonsense. You just have to face that you will not wake every morning and be excited to run. Some days, you just have to run and don't care whether you're in the mood or not. Like brushing your teeth. Regardless you are in the mood for brushing or not, you still brush your teeth everyday.

Day 7
YES!!!! Rest day!!!
today is just a day for resting.
Most new runners often got this wrong. Rest is an essential part of your training or fitness schedule. Your body needs to recover from the workouts you've been doing.
More is definitely not better when it comes to running. You should be able to take care of your body and not over train it. Over training it will only end up in fatigue or you might even hurt yourself.

12 Week Walk/Run Program
The 12 week walk / run program is ideal for beginners.
On the safe side, be sure to talk to your doctor before starting any fitness plan.
This is a great tool which serves as a road map. I also use this as a motivational tool. I have print out of this plan then I stick a star for every workout schedule I finishes. Also, I have reward system that is based on this plan.
Hope you'll love it. By the way, the picture seems small. To view the program/plan properly, you can either RIGHT CLICK and open in new window or tab, or download it. It gives you a larger view of the plan that you can easily print.

Day 6
The walk to run program for beginners assignment for day 6 is to WALK 5mins, RUN 1min, total 17mins, then WALK 5mins. I had plenty of energy during the run, so it was a pretty easy run. I do get good days and bad day. Fortunately, today is a good day. And please don't loose sight of your plan during bad days. Most often than not, you'll be much happier you stick with your plan during those bad days.

Day 5
A walking schedule is good for newbies like me. Because it doesn't require much of you. sometimes i just get overwhelmed when you have to train hard everyday.
for day 5, i walked around the city with my sunglasses. Yup, the sun is up right now. After few weeks of rain, it's nice to see the sun once again.

Day 4
4th day of the beginner's walk to run program.
Today I did the 5min walk, 1 min run for 17 minutes, and 5min cool down. To beat boredom I did include punches while running. It was quite good actually. At first I'm afraid that I would fall on the treadmill by extending some jabs but I didn't. I actually like it. In the beginning, I tried punching slowly, but when I increased my punching speed things got easier. I believe I was breathing more but I didn't noticed the time. Time went buy faster.
To avoid boredom, try incorporating other activities such as punching something or do the weight training exercise like dumbell curl. You can try this even without the dumbell. Just exert pressure when you contract those muscles. It's like having a make believe dumbell. Specially for newbies like me using a treadmill because you may not be able to immediately control slow down the speed if your holding a dumbell.

Day 3
It's a walking plan for day 3. I walked for 15 mins at a various pace. It' really nice cause I was sort of stressed prior to my work out. But thanks to the podcast I was listening to, I somehow understand what I was feeling and why I was acting in certain way.
Yeah, I'm really greatful for my ipod specially during workout sessions. Basically, I have these different compilations of audiobboks, songs, and podcast. There was even a time that I was so entertained from an audiobook that I extended my running time for an hour. Right now, I'm particularly looking for Haruki Murakami's new book, "What I talk about when I talk about running".
Well, that's all folks.

Day 2
I finished my run at around 10pm. I'm not so much a morning runner cause I really don't have the ability to wake up in the morning. I did tried running in the morning. Maybe its just me but I don't have the energy in the morning. When I tried it, I ran slower and fewer distance. But I really want to change that.Cause when you tend to put running as the last thing you do in a day, certain things happen. Unexpected stuff can just come up and you end up not running. Plus, after I ran I usually can't get to sleep. And its frustrating.
Anyway, I'm so happy today. You see I used my new shoes.Yup new shoes, since I'm such a so noob runner, I like the motivation of new shoes. The plan for today is to walk for 5 mins and run for 1 min alternately until I reach 17 min, then walk for 5 mins again. So I did 3 sets of walk 5mins and run 1min then 5 min cool down.
By the way I'll be posting my saved run from Nike so that you'll know that I'm not just creating things. I'm not the kind of blogger who just copy or re-write an article. I'm a true person, not an imaginary blogger.
Well, I really do wish that I reach my goal and hopefully record everything about it. So that one day I can look back and say that it is possible.

Why I Run
Why I Run
Perhaps, people who knew me will find it surprising why I took up running.WHY? because I'm not really an athletic person. I smoke a lot. I'm not in the greatest shape. So why do I run. At first, it was to loose some weight. So we bought a treadmill and it all started there. Although, my first attempt was not that successful. I easily lost interest after I missed couple of runs. but i did learn a lot from that. One is I really love getting the runner's high. It always happened after every run which is quite nice. I get this feeling of being hyper or feeling alert after every run. And I can easily laugh after a run. You get these boost of positivity. And I really like it a lot. That is something I really look forward to when running. Another huge lesson is not to over train myself. Sometime it gets to tempting to top off your previous run or setting a new personal record(PR). But in the long run it's not good for you. You end up fatigue and doesn't allow your muscles to recover. Once I hit fatigue, I tend to cut off running schedules. I rationalized that I did overworked myself, so why not miss a day. then a day becomes 2 days, which then turns to a week. After that you loose your sense of habit and eventually you spend more days resting than running.
Another reason why I love running is it can cost you nothing. You can wear your old rubber shoes and just put your right foot ahead of your left food then alternate. It is so simple and cost almost nothing. Eventually, when you have come to love running, you would want to purchase a good pair of shoes.
It also made me seriously think to put a stop on smoking. Because, it limits the amount of oxygen I can take. Who knows, this may be my answer to quitting.
If you would ask me 2 years ago, if I would like to run or jog. I would have laugh at your face. But believe me you have to experience running to know that falling in love with running is not a hard thing to do. Even though I'm a so noob runner, it's simple to find out why I love to run
Day 1
I am following a plan for walk-run program.... I got the plan from a runner's book which I got cheap since it was on sale. First, I noticed that the plan I am following is the same as the plan being used by nike+ in their website.
By the way, I'm using the nike ipod kit to record my runs. It's really a good tool for so noob runners like me. I'll tell you more about this in another post. Right now, I just want to update you guys on how I did my my day 1. So here's the adventure of a so noob runner on her first day.
To start, the plan said to walk for 15mins for day 1. I actually did 30mins. I woke up late so I just fit the walk in my schedule. You see, I had to do some errands, and instead of riding I just walk all the way to where I'm supposed to go. So it took me about 30 minutes to get there.
The first thing I noticed that my left foot hurts. And it was not that muscle is aching, but you know the feeling you have when wearing those thick soled shoes. So while walking I thought of buying a new rubber shoes. Damn the credit card and 50% off sale. I was tempted to buy one. But anyhow, I guess it will motivate me more to really follow through on my running, after all I even bought new shoes. Well, I got a Nike+ Air Zoom Verday which allowed me to insert the nike kit inside the sole.Yehey.
I did the plan. But I wasn't too happy with my diet today. I had no lunch, and bought a burger for lunch, and eat some rice in the evening. Well, tomorrow is another right.

Run Noob Run
Hi guys.
So many things can happen in a year, at the same time, nothing can happen in a year. It really depends on you. As for me, nothing much has happened in the last few years. Which I admit is my fault. I was lazy and was hoping that something will eventually happen. But guess what, nothing major happened. So now I want to set a goal and finish it.
I've been eyeing on joining a marathon since last year. I was even runing for 7 days straight for 2 hours each. Well, eventually, I got sick and after that I had difficulty in starting a training program again. At first, I would train for few weeks then stop. Then I start again, but eventually stop again.
Now, I make commitment to run in the next year marathon. I hope I can share with you some helpful things that I would learn along the way in my training. After all I'm a newbie in running. I hope you cheer for me. "Run Noob Run"
